Goddess of the week – Sedna

whale-307637_960_720Sedna is an Inuit Goddess of the sea. There are many myths surrounding her but they all involve her father chopping off her fingers and them falling in to the sea and becoming seals, and other sea creatures. These sea creatures then became food for the Inuit people.

Sedna is known as a vengeful Goddess, if she doesn’t feel respected she can bring fame by driving away the sea creatures. However if she feels honoured she can bring feast by sending the sea creatures to the hunters.

Sedna can bring you a plentiful supply of anything you need if you honour her. The best way to honour her is to look after our oceans.

Tips for looking after the our oceans

  1. Carefully dispose of any rubbish so it doesn’t find its way into the ocean.
  2. When at the beach pick up any rubbish you see lying around
  3. Don’t wash toxins like oil or paint down the drain, or it will eventually find it’s way into the sea
  4. Only use natural cleaning products in your home and work place.
  5. Only buy fish that have been harvested sustainably.

Ask Sedna for help when you are having trouble meeting your needs, or when you are worried about your future. Ask her for help and know that everything will be fine.
